2008年5月19日凌晨1时09分，年过七旬的宋华元、徐丽芬老夫妇，在武汉市旅游局入川游客营救工作组成员刘国一、周俊的陪护下，由成都市顺利抵达武汉天河机场。
经过8天7夜地紧张救援，四川省汶川县发生里氏8.0级大地震后，332名武汉入川幸存游客全部安全返汉。至此湖北省、武汉市政府联手各方，克服种种困难，兑现“将武汉入川游客尽快接回武汉”的承诺。
二个人，一通霄，打通 200 多个电话
“打通武汉所有旅行社电话，查清有多少武汉游客在四川！”5月12日下午14时28分，四川省汶川县大地震发生后，武汉市旅游局局长张侠第一时间对该局旅行社管理处下达了指令。
该处处长吴展来和一名干部，各抱一部电话，全市215家旅行社，30多家四川在汉的旅游机构联络处，一家一家挨个联络。
凌晨1点多，打通40家旅行社，初步了解130位武汉游客在川。
凌晨3点，张侠难以入睡，电话吴展来：“到底有多少游客在灾区？”得知已查知有190多名游客，他更是不安，“继续仔细查，一定要查清！”
17个小时过去了，查明334名武汉游客入川，32名游客失踪。此时，天已大亮。
第二天，32名游客失踪消息经媒体公布，顿成所有武汉人的牵挂。

26人的旅行团完全失踪，杳无音讯
12日中午，由省海外旅游总公司组织的硚口区26人旅游团，在四川省茂县午饭后，赶往汶川。
下午2时多，汶川特大地震灾害发生。
灾情就是命令。“一定要确保游客的生命安全！”省海外立即与地接社成都光大国际旅行社电话了解情况，得知地陪、全陪人员联系不上，旅行团完全失踪。
当晚，省海外决定，立即派出由副总董继武、发展部部长黄后发、组团人何琳组成的营救小组，前往四川，尽快了解旅行团所处位置及人员伤亡情况，以最快的速度将他们营救出灾区。
13日，武汉市旅游局紧急决定派遣一名川籍干部黄晓军先期赶赴灾区，联络四川省旅游局、四川省应急办等有关方面，了解有关武汉游客情况，展开游客营救工作。
14日，省海外营救小组终于坐上当天飞往成都的第一个航班，上午10时，飞抵成都双流机场，与先期到达的黄晓军会合。
董继武说，“那时走在成都的大街上，感觉脚下的地不时在抖动。”救援小组人员的内心何尝不是在抖动呢？

游客 热线开通，一天打进100多个电话
“我爸爸在不在那个车上？”15日下午，硚口区一位女孩打电话至82761686，哭求查证。
“82761686”是武汉市旅游局率先开通的抗震救灾期间游客咨询热线。网上一则消息，称“灾区一辆中巴车被巨石砸中，一车37人遇难”，女孩看到后，担心父亲安危。
市旅游局工作人员留下她的电话，答应帮忙查证。随后，市旅游局又接到70余个查证该辆中巴车情况的电话，经过与成都地接社方面一轮又一轮联系，最后核实排除了该车接待武汉团队的险境。后来女孩得知父亲没事，喜极而泣。
热线开通以来，电话响个不停，平均每天有100多个电话打进。
两名受困青城山的武汉女青年，15日中午打进热线请求“救命”。热线当即联络地接社，妥善安置生活，安排她们返汉。
一位大连市民打来长途，求助查找在川亲人。他很感激，“你们开通的，可是全国的第一条寻亲热线呀！”
由于市旅游部门率先通过媒体公布了武汉游客在川的情况，这成为社会各界寻求有关线索的重要途径。
地震发生后的第二天，武穴市科技局的负责人循着报纸的报道，上门找到了武汉市旅游局，恳求提供帮助。原来武穴市科技局有一个大型团队正在四川，该市组团社一直无法联系到团队下落，情急之下看到了报纸上唯一由武汉市旅游局发布的武汉游客消息。
得知其原委后，武汉市旅游部门当即决定，利用连日来建立的独有联系渠道，帮助武穴市寻找团队下落，经过努力，终于获得了团队的确切消息。
Tourists hotline launched, get through more than 100 calls a day

"82761686" is the first tourist information hotline open by Wuhan Tourism Bureau. The girl worry about her father’ safety after she read an internet message of "a medium bus was crushed by huge stones in disaster area and 37 people were confirmed dead".
Tourism Bureau staff leave her phone number and promise to help verify the event. Subsequently, the Tourism Bureau has received more than 70 calls all about it and finally rule out the possibility of the car receive Wuhan group after contact with Chengdu Land Operator much times. Later, the girl knows her father was fine, cry in glad.
临危受命，争分夺秒
15日早上，终于从地接社那边传来消息，旅行团在地震中2人遇难，5人受伤，其他18名游客及武汉全陪、成都地陪安然无恙，正在当地等待救援。
下午，救援部队赶过去，立即将伤者转往黑水县武警部队医疗救助站实施救治。
董继武当即将相关情况迅速向武汉方面报告，并由公司报省、市旅游局。
武汉市旅游局张侠局长立即派出综合处处长刘国一、市旅游质量监督所所长周俊一行二人，与湖北省海外旅游总公司、硚口区政府等有关方面的人员组成武汉入川游客营救小组，赶往四川成都，继续开展游客营救工作。
省海外营救组小组成员何琳的小孩才6岁，孩子需要妈妈的照料。情况已经明了，董继武作为营救小组负责人，决定何琳先回武汉。
16日上午，18名未受伤的游客和武汉全陪导游被救援部队转移到九寨沟黄龙机场附近。
市营救工作组与营救小组碰头后决定，想办法让这一批游客由黄龙经重庆，尽快飞回武汉。
当日下午，18名未受伤的游客和武汉全陪导游由黄龙飞抵重庆。
当晚10点半，他们由重庆飞回武汉。
留在四川一天，生命安全会多一天的威胁，省海外营救小组此时只需一人留下善后，“谁留谁走”让董继武与黄后发争执不下。
年近60岁的董继武电话董事长，称“我这大把年纪了，是过来人，让小黄先回吧！”
公司听取老董的意见，让他留下，配合市营救工作组做好伤者转运工作。

5名伤员，伤情揪心。转运之旅，一波三折
5名伤员还在黑水，伤情都有进一步恶化的可能，还有一位腰椎重伤，伤者和亲戚也要求能飞运回武汉救治。
道路交通条件极为艰苦，伤者如何尽快转运到黄龙机场，成为市营救工作组一大难题。
工作组经与多方联系，得到地方、部队大力协助，17日凌晨一点，5名伤员被顺利转移到九寨沟黄龙机场附近。营救工作组一夜未眠，与成都地接社共同谋划，将伤员当日运回武汉。
重伤员躺在担架上“坐”飞机，飞机上稳定安放一付担架，得拆掉7到9个座位。
当日一早，工作组赶赴成都机场协调伤员飞重庆，幸运地遇到川航的一位女同志，当即开车将工作组成员送到川航公司临时办公地点，找到当日飞行调度总指挥朱林。
了解5名伤者的特殊情况后，朱林马上协调，安排伤者与工作组乘坐当天下午3点15分的一个航班飞成都。
天气恶劣，成都飞来的飞机无法安全降落，连续来回飞了六次，均无功而返。
最后，川航公司调来一名有1万多小时飞行经验的老机长，第7次飞黄龙，晚上9点25分降落黄龙机场。
伤者立即被抬上飞机，晚上10点55分，降落成都。

The same day early in the morning, the Working Group rush to Shuangliu Airport and seek help from Sichuan Airlines. Sizes up the situation of the five wounded persons, Sichuan Airlines immediately take the wounded from Huanglong to Chengdu by air.
The Working Group immediately informs the situation to Wuhan and contacts China Southern Airlines Hubei Branch to arrange the wounded transfer to Wuhan. The urgent situation is reported to provincial and municipal governments Emergency Office. City Emergency Office informs the situation to China Southern Airlines Hubei companies and the latter instruct Chengdu concerned: “the five wounded persons must be come back!”
The Working Group used all kinds of relations to transfer an ambulance and several medical staff to Shuangliu Airport to protect the wounded.
Wait for more than seven hours, five wounded persons arrived in Chengdu. 18th at1:00 AM. They fly back to Wuhan securely.
连续奋战，惊心18小时，运回伤员
伤员成功转移的同时，设在成都机场候机大厅餐饮区的“临时指挥组”悉心谋划、协调部署，指挥各方力量实施救援、转移。
所有人坚信：救人是第一位的！肩负张侠局长的重托，武汉救援组与四川应急办、地接旅行社成都光大旅行社就地组建了伤员营救专班。17日凌晨开始，他们在成都机场临时租用了餐饮区的一张桌子，作为“指挥部”开展现场办公。想方设法，他们联络四川航空公司、南方航空公司、黄龙机场、成都双流机场，分头讨论、制定出伤员的接送、飞机转运衔接、候机休息、沿途医护等大大小小的实施方案。
安排一幅担架上飞机，就得拆掉9个座位。如按正常程序，需提前3天与航空公司、机场等方面申报、沟通，可在这堪比黄金的时间里，工作组只有不停辗转各方请求帮助。川航、南航均破例，以最快速度报批，义无反顾的撤掉9个座位，并且只按一张机票价格计费。
“轻一些，动作快一点！”伤者的一呼一吸都牵动着工作组成员的心。到18日凌晨，5名伤员安全登上了南航飞武汉的班机、启航，“临时指挥部”完成任务、不辱使命。成都光大旅行社的杨总，才长长地舒了口气，身怀六甲的她，这时候也已经和临时工作组的成员一起连续奋战了18小时，滴水未进。
武汉方面，得知伤员顺利登机，一直坚守在办公室的张侠局长，终于松了一口气。
“他们是我们的亲人，我们应该等他们一起 回家 ！”
按计划，5名伤者将坐19日10时30分南航CZ-3442次航班回汉。
为了运送伤者，南航公司临时将小机型调换为大机型。南航公司领导指示机组，一定要将这批伤者接回武汉。
晚上11点过了，延迟半个多小时才开始登机，让同机的100多名乘客不解。
后来，大家得知是为了运送伤者，纷纷为伤者让行，“他们是我们的亲人，我们应该等他们一起回家！”
董继武说，“在四川那多天，我没有流泪，当听到武汉的老乡们说出这一句话，我的泪水再也控制不住，我惟有代伤者向大家鞠躬，说声谢谢！”
